TEC Results Meeting: Unique Methodology to Render Non-Soluble Compounds Soluble with Nanotechnology

LIVE EVENT ONLY

Are you involved in Drug Discovery and Development? Are you trying to transform non-soluble compounds into soluble compounds?

The Technology Evaluation Consortium™ (TEC) in One Million Solutions in Health has been working with our Steering Committee and Subject Matter Experts over the last number of months to implement one of our TEC Validation Projects™.

On a trial basis, to share with the broader scientific community the results of the Technology Evaluation Consortium’s work, we are opening up an opportunity for you to have a front-row seat to hear about the results of this TEC Validation Project to transform non-soluble compounds into soluble compounds.

A nano-scale manufacturing process developed by researchers at the Center for High-rate Nanomanufacturing (CHN) at Northeastern University can produce nanorod structures with a unique ability to pass through normal tissue boundaries.  This allows compounds that are normally insoluble to become soluble and be delivered into the body orally.

From compounds chosen and provided by several TEC members, i.e., AbbVie, Allergan, and Janssen, the team at Northeastern University has completed their proof-of-concept study, the data from which will be presented at our Consortium-wide meeting on October 20th at 1pm.

Fundamentally, our mandate is to bring into the TEC the evaluations and validations that the industry wants to implement and, particularly, those that are being done individually by each company, but could be better served by having everyone do them together.  To this end, One Million Solutions in Health™ has been conducting TEC Validation Projects for the last 10 years as part of our mission to:

Triage and streamline new technology consideration for the industry.

To be the place for the industry to conduct their evaluations and validations.

Normally, this opportunity to learn directly from the scientists and participants would ONLY be made available to members of our Technology Evaluation Consortium™ (TEC). But, right now, this information is being shared beyond our current membership, to provide you and/or your organization with the opportunity to join the consortium. Membership can be on an organization-wide basis, or an individual basis, for industry, academia and/or students.

This is also your opportunity to learn more about our exclusive TEC Validation Project process, where Subject Matter Experts actively participate with technology providers to mold and direct a final offering which best fits the needs of the industry.  By providing feedback directly to the scientists who have created the technology, the consortium is able to accelerate the application of the science into the industry.

We are appreciative of the contributions from AbbVie, Allergan and Janssen, who provided the compounds for this validation project. This Results Meeting on October 20th will showcase how this nano-scale manufacturing process can produce nanorod structures with a unique ability to pass through normal tissue boundaries. This is important because a significant number of NCEs (New Chemical Entities) developed by the industry are poorly soluble in water and cannot be taken orally.

Register

Current member companies in the Technology Evaluation Consortium include organizations like Pfizer, AbbVie, Allergan, Amgen and Janssen, along with many others. However, for a limited time, we are allowing new industry participants, and other scientists, clinicians and investors in organizations around the world, to learn about this technology and take part in this TEC Validation Project Results Meeting entitled “Unique Methodology to Render Non-Soluble Compounds Soluble with Nanotechnology” on Tuesday, October 20th at 1pm EST.
